As some of you may remember, I was invited to SocialSpark alpha a few weeks ago. A week or two after that, I believe they entered their beta stage which didn’t last too long. Now, it’s available to the public which means anyone can sign-up for it. The company behind SocialSpark is IZEA who first came out with PayPerPost.
As its name suggests, SocialSpark is yet another social networking site. The difference is that not only it allows you to communicate with fellow bloggers but also with advertisers via its message center. You can also accept/reject friend requests as well as communicate with their costumer service from there. Further, you can manage comments and feedbacks left by other fellow SocialSpark members — both bloggers and advertisers — on your profile, which you get to create when you signup.
As for Opportunities, listing is similar to PayPerPost; that is,you can easily tell which ones are open, which ones you qualify for and basic requirements. However, there are two improvements over PayPerPost. They are bonuses and queuing system.
Bonuses are granted to those who write their sponsored posts well with efforts and time put into it. This is a great idea, in my opinion, as it will improve the quality of such posts and increase return on investments (ROI) for advertisers; in turn, more opportunities with higher pay would be available for bloggers like myself and not for blogs with terrible English grammar.
For closed opportunities, you can “request a slot” which puts you in the queue, and you will be notified via e-mail when it re-opens. For some, you must reserve a slot, and when it gets to be your turn, you have 12 hours to complete it. I didn’t like this at first, because what if the system notifies me at 10PM? Then I would be in sleep most of that 12 hours. Well, I found out that I can re-reserve before the expiration.
Overall, it looks very promising… and people don’t have to spend their lives in front computer screens anymore.
