Father learns computer

March 31st, 2003 @ 3:30 PM in Rants

Ha, give me a break! He ca’t even start an application by double-clicking on an icon, let alone create a shortcut… all he can do is what I show him several hundreds of times over and over. And h’s been saying he wants to learn computer for about five years now, but he always only asks how to work certain things, and he just follows every step. He even writes these steps down on paper! Even if a single step goes “wrong,” he gets stuck!

‘m in a big trouble. He wants to start a small business at a local shopping mall, and we would have to purchase a machine and a computer for the business. So this means I have to teach him how to use the damn machine and the computer. How do I know how to use that machine?

Well, you see, my brother has a business in Hawaii and at several other locations where people can bring in photos to have them engraved on keychains and/or necklaces. Anyway, I taught him how to use that same machine when he first started.

So my father wants to open up the same business at Tacoma Shopping Mall after my surgery, but how can he run a business when he ca’t converse in English…? Heck, he even gets confused with the words “he” and “she”. Not to mention he knows shit about operating a computer.

Shit… he gets frustrated and annoyed, and even yells, when I try to teach him something; so naturally, I get the same way. I mean, I just hate being yelled at. Well, I guess no one likes being yelled at, but I bet you would’t want to have him as your father.

My mom wonders why I never call her anymore… i’s because EVERY-time I do, sh’s blown up her computer…
She is the only one I know of who can blow a computer up pretty much every-time she gets on it.
The computer is top of the line (seriously), I have all programs like ad-ware and nortons system works loaded on there, but she tends to delete important files… because”whoops did’t know Id be needing that” o_O

Seriously it drives me nuts. We want to put her on 2000 or one of the windows where we can lock stuff down as a administrator…. :D I’s seriously that bad.

Trust me, if it was a choice of knowing nothing at all and blowing the computer up… I’d choose NOTHING in a heart beat….
