Goodbye ZoneAlarm

I’ve been using ZoneAlarm for about 5 years, and I even upgraded to its security suite last year to get rid of Norton AntiVirus 2006 which was a resource hog; however, ever since version 6.5, I haven’t been able to leave my computer on overnight because of its frequent crashes. Its core engine, TrueVector, would crash under heavy stress and even lead to BSoD occasionally. Its new version 7 (beta) also became a resource hog like Norton, taking up around 80MB of my precious RAM!

Since my license is almost up, I’ve switched to Kaspersky Internet Security. Guess what!? No more crashes, and it takes only around 25MB!!! Its GUI could be improved, though it really isn’t that important.

So, adieu ZoneAlarm! Good riddance… o_O
