Linksys WRT54GL with SD/MMC Card
March 29th, 2007 @ 4:10 PM in EtceteraI just purchased a Linksys WRT54GL with a 1GB SD/MMC Card flashed with DD-WRT firmware for $109.98. Kind of expensive, but it’s priced $134.99 plus $12.99 shipping at Tekunix Corp. who in my opinion is a bunch of crooks overpriced. I mean, the router sells for 1/3 of their price tag on Amazon plus free shipping.
Anyway, I’ll be using it mostly for VPN in front of my ZyXEL X-550… and with all that space, maybe I’ll even host this site on it someday.

I’ve heard it has an “unofficial” problem with VPN (IPSec pass-thru)?
Can you check that out for me?
What revision is it? v5 or v6?

The link that you posted is from a used router that was also originally bought from TEKUNIX, lol. That’s why the price was at $110 or so… it doesn’t even mention that it brings the 1GB sd card. Personally, I got one of this WRT54GL routers from TEKUNIX and to be honest… really honest, this is the best router I’ve ever had. About the price… well, if you consider the price of the router, plus 1GB SD Card, plus cd reader/slot, cables, man work, configuration and miscelaneous, the price is really great. Plus the support is light speed fast, (they respond in no more than 5 minutes by email! believe it or not) If you paid $110 for a used router that doesn’t even mention a 1GB sd card included instead of paying $135 for a new one with them… you have to be crazy
