I Follow
Just a reminder to let you know I’ve turned “nofollow” off from the very beginning for the “website” field on the comments section as well as in the meta tag in the header. So whenever you leave a comment, you are increasing your own Google Page Rank. Further, if you leave a comment, I’ll try to reciprocate it… and if you become a regular commenter, I’ll even add you under my blogroll on the sidebar footer.
So comment away! ![]()

Good idea. How did you do it?
By Michael on Dec 15, 2007 @ 8:42 AM | Reply
I modified the “get_comment_author_link” function in WordPress.

Thanks, I am on Blogger and use haloscan, unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a solution for Haloscan. Pity, and I don’t like the Bloggers’ comment gizmo…

Why don’t you get your own domain…? I don’t like Blogspot.

You comment, I follow…
There’s been many times that I’ve become frustrated that people don’t get linkage from commenting. I know, it probably defeats the whole Search Engine Optimization thing, but I still think people should get links if they comment on …

Call me naive, but “the whole search engine optimization thing” is getting a bit tedious, from both a blogging and a reading point of view. (I’m starting to think that just having the words “Search Engine Optimization” and “SEO” in the blog should tank its rankings… but then some fool would run around leaving those in comments, or something.)

Here’s a nice tut on SEO recommended by my brother:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) by Cafepress.com
My brother’s a pro web designer/coder/developer/lazybastard working for some of the bigger public sites in Norway, so easily I take his word for it.
Then again, if you’re original and creative with regards to content, word-of-mouth will surpass online exposure.

Thanks. I believe I’m not doing too bad with SEO stuffs, though.

Agreed. Just thought I’d share it with the crowd you’re getting here because of your SEO optimization

Can you give me a clue what the code in the CSS should look like?
I think now it says “nofollow = false”
I have no clue and I don’t want to end up like some time this week after trying to install Gravatars.
Comments gone for the next half hour….grin

CSS? I edited the core PHP file.

Ouh, PHP is what I mean, yepp

Open up “wp-includes/comment-template.php” and edit the “get_comment_author_link()” function, Nicole.

Sorry, I should have mentioned, no WP here.
I’m using b2evolution.
But the command should be sort of the same, no?
Anyhow, just checked the php file and changed nofollow = true to false.
We will see what happens

Remember NOT TO confuse this with the “I Swallow” tag!!!
By Nicole on Feb 19, 2008 @ 8:29 AM | Reply
I must visit the wrong blogs.
Haven’t seen that tag yet.
By Holly on Feb 19, 2008 @ 12:27 PM | Reply
Hah! Good one, Sigg3.
Is there an “I lead” tag?
By Sigg3 on Feb 21, 2008 @ 7:41 AM | Reply
I also try to avoid the iPod, iPhone and iSuck tags.
By Delores on Feb 26, 2008 @ 8:38 AM | Reply
I found your site through ScratchBack. I think they’re still working the bugs out on that site. I’m not sure how the “nofollow” works but I’ll give it a shot.
