Upgraded to WordPress 2.5

March 31st, 2008 @ 7:16 PM in Announcements

I actually upgraded a couple of days ago and took “nofollow” out from the code — both manually. While I didn’t have any problem finding stuffs as they’re logically placed, I already don’t like a few things:

  1. The word count patch doesn’t work anymore, which they’re not willing to update;
  2. Categories and Comments/Pings options are located underneath the text box, so I’ve to scroll down;
  3. and image gallery is now built into the core which should have been made as an extension, because I’m sure there are lots of people like me who don’t use it much.

Other than that, I think it performs much smoother. :)

    But you’ve got to admit though that the way images media are organized are much better now in WP 2.5 :)
    I used to have a different plug-in to organize my images. I removed them as of WP2.5

    Exactly… it’d be have been a feature of an extension. After all, WP is more of a word processor than an image/media gallery.

    I updated mine a few days ago also, have to say I am not that impressed…I don’t hate it, but I don’t think it’s that different or special, it was over hyped!

    Runs smoother, harder to find stuff LOL! I’ve got to look at the no follow thing, I had no idea and we want ours without… Hmmmm

    I can’t help but ask, why edit and remove the “nofollow” tag when you “dofollow” will do the trick?

    Well, I didn’t want to use a plug-in for something so simple.

    And I agree with you, Starlet, I don’t see anything major.
