I Will Not Love Again

I have met many women in my life,
  And loved them with all my heart.
    In my way, that is . . .

They could not see my way of love,
  For my nature did not allow me
    To show them the way.

I am a coward, they might say,
   For I could not change my nature,
    But tell them my two words:
          Who can!
      And I am only human
        As they are.

They are cowards too, I say,
  For not giving a time
    To understand the way of love
      Of mine.

I will not love again . . .
