I Am Not Ignorant

Do not think I am ignorant about thee,
For I observe thy every gesture while thou talk
And even count each and every step thou take,
Walking to and fro.

I see thee from afar, babbling with thy best friend,--
Ah, how much I envy her!
And how I wish to get nigh thee,
But I am far less than a friend to thy heart
And this I know well!
